Central Area Public Information Needs Support
Central Area Public Information Needs Support
What is Public Information (PI)?
Public information (PI) service enables us to share our message with the public, which includes the addict who still suffers, as well as others who work or come in contact with addicts in the community. Our aim is to let the public know NA exists, that our program works, and where to find us.
What does PI do?
We provide information about NA, answer questions about our program, offer relevant IPs and meeting schedules, and offer an opportunity to contact us for more information. We always serve alongside another PI service member when doing booth service.
How does PI serve the Central Area?
Some of the specific ways we currently serve :
- Sit at PI booths in the community. San Diego County Fair, Stand Down, Pride, Adams Avenue Street Fair
- Drop off current meeting schedules and IPs monthly, or as needed, to facilities with which we have an established relationship.
- Respond to PI requests in the Central Area.
- Identify & implement ways to get our message out to the public that don’t necessarily involve concerns about personal anonymity.
Why do we need your help?
Central Area PI values and needs your input, suggestions, feedback, and participation. There are several opportunities to serve behind the scenes if booth work is not of interest.
How do I get involved?
We invite you to our monthly PI subcommittee meeting to help identify the best ways to inform the public about NA in the Central Area.
Check out our ad on the SDICRNA Service Classifieds for open positions. We will provide an orientation and PI guidelines.
We meet on the first Saturday of every month at 9:30 am
